I’ve lost them. They’re gone. I can’t find them anywhere. I wonder if you could help me find them….

I really don’t mean it. I don’t want them back, no way, no how - not a chance in Hell do I want them back. In fact, it would be great if I lost some more 11.3398093 kilograms! Seriously!
You see, with the help of some lovely people online - and with some really strong determination, that came from I don’t know where, I have….

I am so happy and so excited that I can barely see straight! I have been struggling with my darn weight for seven years now - and have not been able (until now - heeeeee!) to find much determination at all to lose any of it. And then we moved twice - and with each move (especially the 700+ mile one!) I put on more weight! No more moving! No more! None! You hear me?! (Well….. unless that means I get to be near Scooter again!)
A few years ago, Scooter’s mother and I were doing Weight Watchers. We started right before the holidays - and then gave up around Christmas time. In the beginning of it, though, as I began to lose one pound here, two pounds there, I was getting frustrated with the slowness of it all. So Tracy took me to the grocery store and did something for me that her mother had done for her. She took me to the produce section and lifted up a bag of …somethin’, I can’t remember - heck, use apples! And she picked a bag that weighed the same amount that I’d lost and handed it to me, saying, “Here! This is what you’ve lost!” That made such a difference to me! It made me feel a lot better about my weight loss.
So …along those lines, I’ve been wanting to ’show’ myself how much I’ve lost. Living out here in the boonies with no car, I don’t really get to the store much, so I went online to search ‘for what I’d lost’. I googled ‘25 pounds’ and the very first thing that came up was “11.3398093 kilograms”. Obviously that’s a smaller number, but, I sure liked the sound of it, anyway! All those decimal points must just do it for me! Ha! And I also thought it made for a really great title for Darren Rowse’s llatest group writing project covering the topic of ‘killer titles’. I’ve always wanted to join in on one, and I’m finally doing so!
I’ve been on this journey for about three months now, and since putting on the weight, I haven’t ever made it this long attempting to get healthy. The funny thing is that it all started with a tweet. Weight loss started with a tweet? WTH? It’s true! I swear! Ok, well, I’d been thinking about ’starting’ the journey and I’d been making little (bitsy, teeny, tiny) changes, and then one day I saw Jason Falls tweet about starting a weight loss support group via Twitter using hashtags. We were to use the hashtag, #twit2fit. So any time you tweet about your journey, add that into your tweet and it would then be easily tracked by the group.
I joined up with them (Thank You, Jason!!!) and that same day also logged back into my SparkPeople.com account, which had been sitting, long abandoned. I started logging my calories there and also any exercise that I did.
Over the following days, Jason and all of us Twit2Fit’ers discussed back and forth how we could enhance our communication with each other . He started a FriendFeed room for us and then went ahead and opened up a Ning social networking site for us. You can see some of my rockin’ cool friends here:
I am utterly amazed, flabbergasted, humbled, and grateful that ‘weight loss’ is actually - and finally - working for me. One morning I was really overwhelmed by it while saying my morning prayers and I kind of just went ‘Thank you-coo-coo’ on God! It was funny - I realized I hadn’t actually thanked him for it, and I went, “Thank you for my weight loss, God, thank you so much, thank you, thank you, thank you…..ad nauseum!” It was kinda funny. I think you had to be there, though, because, later that day when I tried telling my daughter about it, she didn’t laugh. Heh. That’s cool - private joke between God and I. I’m totally groovy with that!
I’ve still got a long way to go, but, I am feeling great! And I have an absolutely precious gift on my side - the knowledge that I can do this - no matter what! (I actually LOST A POUND on my two-week summer vacation!)

6Thank you so much!! I love that ‘all caps love’!! Hey, remember that purple suede dress I bought at the Goodwill for $6, because it was so nice and so pretty and in perfect condition - even though it TOTALLY didn’t fit me??? Maybe, baby, just maybe…
I should do a post on that dress! Ha! There’s some cool stuff at Soul-Flower.com that I can almost buy, too! Yea!!
A gazillion kisses and hugs right back atcha!!!
